Frequently Asked Questions

How often should maintenance be done?

All manufacturers recommend that maintenance on your heating and cooling system should be performed annually at the very least. In some cases, if regular maintenance has not been performed, the manufacturers may even void your warranty due to what they call "abuse and neglect".

We recommend bi-annual checkups (once before winter and once before summer) to ensure the optimum performance, efficiency and reliability of your heating and cooling systems.

How often should I have Freon (R-22) added to my air conditioner?

A properly operating system should not need to have Freon added regularly.

Needing Freon indicates that there is leak in the system (and is a sign of a problem). In addition, the use of Freon (R-22) is being phased out in favor of the incompatible refrigerant R410A starting in January 2010. After that point, the cost of recharging systems requiring Freon will dramatically increase.

Our technicians can evaluate your system for Freon leaks and advise you on the cost of repair if applicable.
